BIOGRAPHY:
Peter Mason is a singer-songwriter with a long and illustrious career. Back in the early 1970s he served his musical apprenticeship with the likes of Dave Dee and the Bee Gees. He moved on to produce his own country-rock flavoured music as a solo artist and with the band Mason. As a songwriter Peter has written songs for a number of UK and International album and single releases - over sixty in all, and for artists such as PJ Proby, Ellen Foley (ex-Meatloaf), Rachel Sweet, Iona & Andy and The Haleys. Among these, he’s had a number of Top Ten hits in Europe. Peter continues to write for other artists and was recently in Nashville overseeing the recording of a new batch of songs penned for emerging UK Country diva Brianie.
Originally from Liverpool, Peter now resides in Salisbury from where he runs his own music publishing company, which is administered worldwide by the Carlin Music Corporation. Among others, his clients include the great Texan folk singer-songwriter David Rodriguez.
Peter's most recent album has been a work of passion for Peter that has taken some time to reach fruition as indicated by the title ‘A Long Haul’. It’s not through a lack of songs but more through an attention to detail and a determination to produce something of genuine quality and craftsmanship. He has skillfully arranged the songs and accordingly recruited a group of superb roots musicians to turn this, his musical vision into a reality.
